What is Cultural Arts?

Cultural Arts programs are interactive, culturally diverse programs which allows student to see things taught in the classroom put into real-world perspective!  Over $12,000 in funds raised by the Memorial School PTO brings in 2 hands-on programs per grade and several school wide presentations for students that both complements and enhance the curriculum.  60% of the TOTAL funds raised yearly by the PTO goes directly to fund these Cultural Arts programs at Memorial School that would otherwise not be possible.

Cultural Arts Programs coming to Memorial School this year-

Pre- K:  Animal Adventures & Turtle Rescue League

Kindergarten:  Mary Ernest, Native American Indian & Biomes Tide Pools (coming in May!)

1st Grade: Animal Habitats & Potato Hill Poetry Workshop (coming in May!)

2nd Grade:  Museum of Science Fun with Dinos (coming February 28) & Through Ellis Island (coming in May!)

3rd Grade: Museum of Science Geology & Cosmic Capers Astronomy Program

4th Grade:  Imathimation and 3-Day Mystery Theater Writing workshop (Feb. 29-Mar. 2)

All Grades:  Geography Game Show & National Library Week Author Visit (coming in April!)
